Our outstanding inn, set in the heart of the rural village of Stainland, east off the A58 and west
of Huddersfield, The Duke of York is run by James and Maria, who have been here since 2003. The inn began life as three
cottages built in the mid-1700s, converted in the early 19th century to create a large and impressive public house. The interior
boasts a striking and comfortable décor and furnishings, with a mix of traditional and contemporary elements including the
stonebuilt bar, exposed brickwork and walls painted a deep crimson. The dining area has polished wood floors, stylish seating
and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the beer garden and scenic rolling countryside.
